The Goal:
– To create a trust-driven, decentralized healthcare platform where patients fully control their medical data and share it securely with verified professionals. – Make Web3 onboarding seamless for users unfamiliar with crypto by providing background wallet creation and gradual exposure to blockchain concepts. – Bridge fragmented healthcare systems by enabling interoperability between hospitals, labs, and pharmacies in a patient-centric way. – Empower all stakeholders—patients, doctors, pharmacists, and hospitals—with role-specific tools that enhance their healthcare interactions, improve record access, and reduce administrative burden. – Drive engagement and adherence through an incentivized health tracking and reward system tied to health logs, consultations, and wellness tasks.
1
The Challenge:
– Healthcare is notoriously complex, and translating that into an intuitive digital platform for multiple stakeholders (patients, doctors, pharmacists, institutions) required deep systems thinking and role-specific UX. – Designing around sensitive health data with blockchain meant balancing data privacy with functional transparency, especially in areas like record sharing, key management, and verification of credentials. – Web3’s technical friction (wallet setup, token payment) had to be hidden for new users without losing transparency, requiring clever progressive onboarding and fallback options like fiat. – Creating a unified yet modular design for dashboards, incentives, prescription flows, journal logs, mood/vital analytics, and subscription access without overwhelming the user. – Designing a robust monetization model (subscription, usage-based, and per-seat pricing) for both patients and institutions, and integrating that into a seamless billing experience across web and mobile.
2
The Result
– A complete end-to-end patient experience that allows users to track health logs, schedule consultations, share medical records with one-time keys, and interact with verified doctors. – Created an AI-informed, role-based dashboard system: patients track moods and medications, doctors manage tasks and appointments, and institutions manage staff access and subscriptions. – Designed a 3-step monetization UX for both fiat and LISK token payments, integrating transparent trials, upgrade prompts, and seamless smart contract interaction. – Introduced a gamified reward system, boosting daily engagement through health tasks like vitals tracking, medication adherence, and journal entries. – Successfully reduced the complexity of blockchain onboarding by designing dual-authentication paths, automatic wallet creation, and real-time verification alerts. – Built a cross-platform design system adaptable to desktop-heavy admin use cases and mobile-first patient journeys.
