The Goal:
To design a seamless, scalable, and engaging mobile learning experience for African students, enabling them to discover, purchase, and complete practical tech courses—while integrating an AI assistant that helps personalize learning journeys. The challenge was to: - Reduce friction in discovering the right course - Increase course completion rates - Improve user retention and satisfaction

The Contribution:
As the lead product designer, I was responsible for the end-to-end mobile product design. This included conducting extensive user research to map out the needs of our target users, which I achieved through interviews and surveys. From this research, I developed the UX architecture by defining user flows for various personas, including new users, enrolled students, and course creators. In terms of the visual experience, I designed a clean, modern, and intuitive user interface that adhered to best practices while ensuring usability across a variety of mobile devices. Additionally, I prototyped high-fidelity interactive flows to bring the design vision to life, and I developed a design system—a modular, reusable UI kit—to ensure consistency and scalability across the platform. One of the most crucial aspects of the project was the AI integration; I designed the conversational experience with Chito, the platform's smart learning assistant, which guided users through personalized course recommendations and provided answers to their questions.

🌟 Key Features Designed
The Suwk platform featured several standout components that I designed, starting with the AI-powered assistant, Chito. This assistant was central to the user experience, offering personalized course recommendations, answering user questions, and guiding learners based on their skill levels. Another important feature I designed was the gamified learning experience, which included progress bars, badges, and milestones to keep users motivated throughout their learning journey. Given the challenges of low connectivity in many parts of Africa, I also incorporated an offline mode, allowing users to download lessons for use in areas with limited internet access. For the monetization aspect, I ensured the in-app purchase flow was secure, transparent, and optimized for mobile devices, making transactions smooth without disrupting the learning experience. The platform also included a Learning Management System (LMS) to organize modules, quizzes, and track user progress. To support students further, I designed an in-app help center and integrated push notifications to keep users on track with their course deadlines.
